Day Four of Abstinence
As an act of defiance against the alcohol industry and their addictive substances, I took over 100 empty cans of beer to the dump and pitched them in with the trash. I definitely don't want to redeem them one by one for any cash which I would probably spend on cannabis products. I also tossed two sacks of rotting kitchen waste in with them. Yeah, it's a trove for the archaeologists now, or maybe some landfill employees will fish them out and redeem them. In any case, they are no longer overflowing in my closet.
I asked Josh the butcher at Picnic Basket this morning what all the cops were doing at their store yesterday, but he said nothing but "something crazy happened" so I let the subject drop. There were actually other customers at the store today, and it looked like the place was operational, so I didn't press the topic further. People were just acting like assholes yesterday probably.
Today is my fourth day without alcohol, and I am feeling a lot better now without that depressant in my life. I haven't heard from Janelle in a while, but she is probably alright and has her Mom to look out for her. I am not having dreams that are as disturbing at least as far as last night is concerned. No real problem with angry voices or anything else. I suppose this is an improvement.
We are getting some light rain this morning, and there are storms in the forecast, but that just means I won't have to do yard work. It's going to be hot again outside, but the house is comfortable.
So, no beer or weed for this boy. No time spent feeding empties one by one into any refund machine. No listening to drunk ex girlfriend complaining about her life, and no father uttering curses at his technology, he says, but I know he was cursing me.
I have a cup of tea to finish now, and some thinking to do. Also, should probably find something educational to watch instead of the stupid things the YouTube feed seems to think will draw my attention. Take care, fellow travelors.
